Moving the goalposts once again.

“That’s how the UN elites and the elites in Canada operate. First, a report is released with a ‘suggestion,’ then that suggestion becomes ‘necessary to save the world,’ then it turns into a ‘policy idea,’ then everyone who opposes that idea is branded a ‘denier’ and is demonized.

While this does not apply to Canada, you can bet that the Liberals will be on the campaign trail “gently suggesting” to Canadians that “meat bad, plants good”, all to the detriment of Canadian beef and pork farmers and producers.

And what with the food chains like Tim Horton’s pushing their “Beyond Meat” products, it’s all part of the social conditioning to get Canadians away from meat.

The latest propaganda from the UN is telling us to “change” land use in order to avoid starving. It’s fearmongering 101 with this latest, desperate report trying to change the way we live, work and eat.

“If people change their diets, reducing red meat and increasing plant-based foods, such as fruits, vegetables and seeds, the world can save as much as another 15% of current emissions by mid-century. It would also make people more healthy, Rosenzweig said.”

“The science panel said they aren’t telling people what to eat because that’s a personal choice.”

Really? “Personal Choice?” That’s not in the UN’s lexicon as their reports are picked up by the media and presented as dire warnings for us to change our habits. It’s playing on fear and emotion, not based on facts.

The Associated Press breathlessly reported it this way: “Scientists at Thursday’s press conference emphasized both the seriousness of the problem and the need to make societal changes soon.”

Is this not guilting people into changing “personal choices?

And this:“Still, Hans-Otto Pörtner, a panel leader from Germany who said he lost weight and felt better after reducing his meat consumption, told a reporter that if she ate less ribs and more vegetables “that’s a good decision and you will help the planet reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”

It’s all a case of feelings over facts.

“Climate Change”, “Global Warming” or “Climate Emergency” whatever the phrase of the day is – is nothing more than a cult.

The progressive movement “has made the environment into a sort of deity. If the earth is god, then anthropogenic climate change is the sin of man. This is why scientists are no longer allowed to question anthropogenic climate change. Science is viewed through a dispassionate lens, but environmental issues have moved far beyond the realm of science. Dispassion has been killed by fanaticism.”

Radical greens have caused enormous harm to the environment, for example:

  • · Clear-cutting the tropical rainforests to grow sugar cane and palm oil for biofuels;

  • · Accelerated draining of the vital Ogallala aquifer in the USA for corn ethanol and biodiesel production;

  • · Clear-cutting forests in the eastern USA to provide wood for the Drax power plant in Britain;

  • · Destructive bird-and-bat-chopping wind power turbines.

  • Radical green extremists have cost society trillions of dollars and many millions of lives. Banning DDT and radical green opposition to golden rice blinded and killed tens of millions of children.

  • Green energy and CO2 abatement schemes, driven by false fears of catastrophic global warming, have severely damaged the environment and have squandered trillions of dollars of scarce global resources that should have been allocated to serve the real, immediate needs of humanity. Properly allocated, these wasted funds might have ended malaria and world hunger.

It’s never been about “the environment” for these activists. It’s about control over every aspect of our lives. It’s the concept of “The Overton Window” which, in a nutshell, is moving the goalposts from an idea that eventually turns into policy.

The common enemy of humanity is man.  “In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome. The real enemy then, is humanity itself.” – Club of Rome, premier environmental think-tank, consultants to the United Nations

We have seen that here in Canada with Trudeau’s Liberals as, according to Justin Trudeau and Catherine McKenna, “climate change” is the defining issue in the upcoming election. It’s not.

Well, maybe it is.  In October 2019, Canadians face a choice whether to elect a government that will not govern by fear and control when it comes to “the climate”,  versus a government that has – in four years, destroyed our resource sector with their economy killing regulations and will keep on doing so until there’s nothing left to tax and destroy.

Until then, go out and enjoy a real meat burger on the BBQ this summer. It’s a much healthier alternative to the plant based ones.
